Decatur - Thousands have been treated at the Cancer Care Center of Decatur.
However, on Thursday night it wasn't about treatment, it was about survivors and the human spirit. Hundreds of Cancer survivors and their families shared a meal, a laugh, and a common story.
Singer and cancer survivor, L.G. White expressed his gratitude, saying "They're cancer survivors too. They had to go through the cancer with the cancer survivor people"
Many guests thanked their doctors, their families, and their fortune for making it through. The Cancer Care Center of Decatur has been holding this event since 1988.
Early detection of cancer has helped people live longer, reinforcing the need for screenings. If you or someone you love is diagnosed, they'll have a fighting chance if the cancer is detected in its earliest state.
