Decatur residents are ready to get a jump start on summer festivities, but they have to wait a little while longer to enjoy the renovated Central Park.
The nearly $2 million dollar project is almost finished.
City manager Ryan McCrady said, construction tape will block off the grass until it is healthy enough for foot traffic.
Business owners seem to enjoy the new look.
"What we want to do is get more dollars flowing into the downtown area and get the local businesses thriving," said John West from All Things Beautiful.
McCrady said, construction was supposed to be complete by June first.
