APL to hold special dog adoptions


SPRINGFIELD - The Animal Protective League will hold special dog adoptions this Thursday and Friday, June 13 and 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Gables, 2800 Plaza Drive in Springfield, as part of the shopping area's Market Days event.   Adoptable dogs and cats will be featured Saturday, June 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hall's Harley-Davidson, 2301 North Dirksen Parkway in Springfield.  On Sunday, June 16, adoptable dogs will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Texas Roadhouse, 2540 West Iles, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at PetSmart, 3183 South Veterans Parkway, both in Springfield.   All animals adopted through APL are spayed or neutered, up to date on all vaccines and micro-chipped.   APL is a non-profit organization committed to caring for sick, injured, abused and abandoned dogs and cats and finding the best possible permanent homes for them.  In addition to regular pet adoptions, the organization coordinates cruelty investigations and humane education programs and operates a low cost spay/neuter clinic adjacent to its Springfield shelter at 1001 Taintor Road in Springfield.
