Decatur, Ill. -- A Decatur toddler is dead after being struck by a vehicle early this morning.
Macon County Coroner Michael Day says 17-month-old Zyonne Cooper was killed after being struck by a vehicle in the 2500 block of East Garfield Avenue shortly after midnight. Cooper was pronounced dead at 3:21 a.m.
Police are looking for a suspect driving 1990's era four door Ford Explorer or similar type of SUV. The suspect vehicle is described as white in color with tinted windows.
Police say the driver fled the scene traveling westbound on Garfield from 2500 East Garfield. The car may have damage to the passenger side front end.
