Decatur – The female's body that was discovered in a port-a-potty has been identified.

The Macon County Coroner told WAND the female is Karen Kay Gilbert-Gibbs, age 44. She was discovered at 7 Wednesday morning in a port-a-potty at MacArthur High School, near a construction site. Gibbs was pronounced dead at 8:22 a.m.

According to the coroner there is no sign of foul play. There is also no sign of acute trauma and no signs of violence. A cause of death is still pending a toxicology screening. Gibbs had a chronic health condition attributed to a history of alcohol and substance abuse.  Drug paraphernalia was found near the scene.

Gibbs had no connection to the area, but was receiving medical care. Most recently she was living in Champaign and Urbana. She also had resided in Bloomington, Fort Wayne Indiana, Columbus Ohio, and Cleveland Ohio. However, a next of kin could not be located in any of those locations.

If anyone has any information concerning the family please contact the Macon County Coroner at 424-1348. The coroner will also reach out to news media and the public for help locating the next of kin in the Ohio area.
