Vinne Barbee continues commitment to community

Posted:

Decatur – Vinnie's Barbeque in Decatur will host their 12th annual car show for the homeless.

The car show will be at the Glass House on North Oakland from 2-5p.m. on Sunday. Vinne Barbee, who owned Vinnie's Barbeque has kept this event a tradition for the past 12 years. Even after Vinnie's Barbeque closed he said he would stay committed to serving the community.

A few years back he shared with us why he wanted to keep the tradition alive "the people here are very fortunate, really are fortunate to have what they have. And then to give back to the people that don't have what they have, that makes it a very special car show. It's a car show to say, we're reaching out to the community, we want to help.

All proceeds go to Vinnie's homeless block party.
