A local animal shelter is hoping to bring $100,000 to Decatur.
The Macon County Animal Control and Care Center is in the running to win the ASPCA Rachael Ray challenge.
By August 31st they have to have roughly 400 adoptions. Right now, people have taken home 88 cats or dogs.
"Just a privilege to be in the challenge it self and one of 50 shelters through out the country. Our goal is to be the grand price winner, but if we're not, there are plenty of other chances and the big prize for us is to get awareness in the community of what we have out here" Lt. Jeff Scheibly the Administrator of Animal Control.
During June, you can name your own price for the adoption. However, the minimum is just $25.
