Springfield – Frustration and disappointment were the two words many lawmakers were using to sum up the special session on Wednesday.
Instead of passing legislation lawmakers in the senate opted to punt legislation back to the House of Representatives. From there the house voted to create a special pension committee, with members being selected by both houses.
The committee will be tasked with creating a pension compromise for lawmakers to vote on in July. Governor Pat Quinn said that he will call lawmakers back in early July to try and tackle pension reform legislation.
