Lawmaker’s paychecks decrease

Springfield – Starting next month state lawmakers will see less money on their pay check.

The governor signed a bill requiring every member of the general assembly to take one unpaid furlough day per month. The new law also prohibits cost of living increases for lawmakers and state officials.

The pay cut will take effect for the 2014 fiscal year, which starts July 1st.
