Central Ill. family raising pediatric stroke awareness

SAVOY -- People often hear the warning signs of strokes in adults, but one Central Illinois family is getting the word out about pediatric stroke in children and infants.

Max Morgan of Savoy is a stroke survivor at 14 months old. Doctors said he had a stroke before he was born.

Pediatric stroke happens in 1 in 2,800 live births.

Max's mother, Nicole Morgan, says she and her husband were shocked.

"We had no idea children could have strokes, especially unborn children," said Morgan.

The Morgan family is having a benefit on Friday to help raise money for pediatric stroke research.
