Park district to break ground on new recreation center

Champaign – Wednesday evening the Champaign Park District will break ground for the new Leonhard Recreation Center.
The ceremony will be held at the recreation centers new location of Sangamon and Kenwood at 5:30 this evening. The new 39-thousand square food building will have two full size basketball courts, four volleyball courts, a walking track, and an indoor playground.
The current building will be knocked down. Park officials will discuss a plan for the space.
