Lovington – Crews are cleaning up, and a road is closed in Lovington.
Last night's storm blew several power poles down. On highway 133 just east of Lovington a total of 10 Ameren power poles are down, including power poles from Moultrie Electric Cooperative. One utility pole fell onto a van last night, the driver and 2 kids were trapped inside for 3 hours while firefighters and Ameren crews worked to remove it safely.
No one was injured.
The stretch of the road closed starts at the junction of 133 and 32 in Lovington, and then goes about three miles east on highway 133. Firefighters told WAND several tree limbs were down around Lovington.
