Wapella – A home in Wapella caught fire last night due to lightning caused by the storm.
Lightning struck a home in the 600 block of North Chestnut in Wapella, around four in the evening. Wapella Fire Chief says they contained the fire to one area of the house, Clinton Firefighters also assisted with the fire.
Half of the home was damaged by the fire, causing about 10 to 20-thousand dollars in damage. The two residents of the home got out unharmed.
