DANVILLE - A new contract has been ratified between teachers and the Danville Public School District.
Under the new three-year deal, union members will receive an annual raise of 2.5% over three year. The two sides also agreed to lengthen the teaching day by 15 minutes.
This has been the school board and DEA's longest contract negotiation; negotiations went on for more than one year.
Members had been working under their old two-year contract.
The association represents about 600 teachers, teaching assistants, secretaries and learning resource clerks.
