U of I Fire Service Institute Training

Some travel as far from Massachusetts to the University of Illinois for this event. This weekend marked the eleventh annual Explorer-Cadets Hands-On Fire Training School where more than two-hundred young adults worked with one another through real-life situations. Some of the real-life rescue scenarios included confined space, single family, tower, business, and building collapse. The students demonstrated true passion and a sense of brotherhood while conducting the drills. The Illinois Fire Service Institute serves more than just Illinois but the entire country. The Champaign Campus includes twenty-eight acres of real-life training props and is one of the few locations in the U.S. that uses live-fire structural burn training.
