Champaign – Travel and tourism in Champaign County is on the rise.
The Illinois Office of Tourism, released their report on domestic travel in Illinois for 2012. The report found a five and a half percent increase for Champaign County. The economic impact was just under 300-million dollars in direct spending.
Other increases include tourism jobs, state and local tax receipts.
