Charitable Site Robbed at Gun Point

Champaign – Police in Champaign are investigating an armed robbery at a local organization.

The robbery happened around 8:30 Monday night, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge on Edgebrook Drive. Police say a man came in during a bingo game, pointed a gun at an employee, and demanded money.

Lodge Trustee Bob Richardson says close to $2200 was stolen, much of which was intended for local charitable donations.

The bartender was alone at the time of the robbery. She described the thief to WAND as a black man in his late twenties, about 5'6" 160 lbs. She says he was wearing all black with a black and white hat.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers or Champaign Police.
