Sangamon County DIRT Team Looking for Community Help
The Drug Interdiction Response Team has quickly made a big dent in the Sangamon County fight against drugs.
With useful tools like Crimestopper tips, the DIRT team wants to keep the community informed about how they can help in the war on drugs.
Undersheriff Jack Campbell said that investigators want to get people from the community involved.
"Now this will give us an opportunity to go into clubs, meetings, and town hall meetings, and give them a little bit more insight as to what we're doing and exactly how it's impacting their communities. We may even create a form to hand out at our meetings, and remind people hey you have the ability to protect yourself," Campbell told WAND News.
Starting Monday, the Sangamon County DIRT team will be taking phone calls from the community to spread the group's message.
