HINDSBORO - In a matter of two hours overnight Sunday, approximately seven inches of rain hit the small town of Hindsboro.
According to Joseph Victor, Douglas County Emergency Manager, officials spent hours pumping water from flooded homes and businesses. Several basements flooded up to six feet, while some even faced flooded living spaces.
Local Bert Fiddler says his basement flooded higher and faster than ever before, with nearly five feet accumulating during the short rainfall.
While most of the water was removed by Monday afternoon, some residents are concerned about mold becoming an issue.
However, Victor says all will be guided and instructed on how to prevent mold within the next few days.
