URBANA, Ill. -- The Urbana police department is
investigating a shooting that sent a woman to the hospital early this morning.
Just after midnight, Urbana
police were called to a shooting at the intersection of Race and Montclair
Streets. Shots from a suspect's
vehicle were fired at three women, hitting their vehicle multiple times.
When officers arrived they found three females, who had been shot at by
multiple suspects. A 26 year old female was taken to the hospital, after being
grazed by a bullet to the head, she is expected to survive. The other two victims
were not injured.
then fled the scene and ended up near the intersection of Vine and the 400
block of Burkwood Court East,
seeking medical help by knocking on doors. Police and EMS responded, and transported
the woman who was shot to the Carle
The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
