Mega Pass Office to extend hours in days leading up to the fair

Springfield – The Illinois State Fair Mega Pass Office will extend its hours to give everyone an opportunity to purchase the popular carnival ride pass at the discounted price of $65.

From July 29 through Aug. 2, the office, located in the Emmerson Building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds, will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.  The last chance to purchase a pass for $65 is Saturday, Aug. 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The price will increase to $75 beginning Monday, Aug. 5.

Admission Booklets also are available for purchase in the Mega Pass Office. The booklet contains ten admissions to the fair and is a great, money-saving addition to a Mega Pass purchase. An adult booklet costs $45.  Senior citizen and children's booklets are $20.

The Illinois State Fair Grandstand Ticket Office also has extended its hours.  The Ticket Office is now open every Saturday to give fairgoers an additional chance to purchase concert tickets. The office is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in addition to its regular weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The 2013 Illinois State Fair will be held Aug. 8 – 18.
