Springfield – A crash leaves one man dead after he
tried to out run the police.
Springfield Police say
it started at the intersection of Cornell and 10th Street when the driver, David Mims,
18, did not stop at a traffic light. Police attempted to pull Mims over, but he
speed off south on 9th Street.
Police lost sight of the
car, but minutes later Mims hit a tree on East Stanford Avenue. Mims was taken to
the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
