Fertilizer Plant Decision May Come Soon

Posted:

Tuscola - Tuscola should know within a month or two if it will land a new fertilizer plant being built by Cronus Chemical.

Tuscola is competing against a location in Iowa for that plant.  As many as 1,000 jobs could be created during the construction phase.

Republican State Senator Chapin Rose told WAND State Capitol reporter Doug Wolfe Monday morning he would anticipate a decision by Cronus within the next 30 to 45 days.  Rose, along with Republican State Rep. Adam Brown, sponsored a bill in the legislature providing economic incentives for the plant if it is built in Tuscola.  Governor Quinn signed the bill last week.
