Council approves broadband project to become non-profit
Urbana – The Urbana City Council approved an agreement to make a broadband project a non-profit.
Until now the $30,000,000 project received most of it's funding from the federal government. The cities and the U of I received a federal grant that paid for construction in under-served neighborhoods to access internet.
Champaign City Council will vote tonight on the issue.
