CHAMPAIGN - Neighborhoods all across Champaign held community celebrations Tuesday as part of a national campaign.
National Night Out, meant to reduce crime in neighborhoods, brings together community members and law enforcement. Locals can build relationships while having a good time.
In Garden Hills, attendees took part in a number of children's activities and games
Many gravitated toward demonstrations by the University of Illinois Police Bomb Squad. Others spent time with building crafts provided by Home Depot.
In addition to four other specific neighborhood celebrations, an event open to all community members was held at Douglass Park.
