Bloomington -- Authorities uncovered human remains in Woodford County and investigators are waiting for tests to see if they may belong to a missing 74-year-old man.
The remains were found Tuesday at a farmhouse in rural Secor (SEE'-kor). That's several miles from where a torso was found in the Mackinaw River this weekend. Authorities believe the man whose torso was found in the McLean County water was a homicide victim.
McLean County Coroner Beth Kimmerling says investigators believe the two sets of remains are "affiliated," but officials are waiting for DNA tests.
Kimmerling says that will determine whether the remains are from the same body and if they belong to Oakley Mitchell, who was reported missing by his family.
