URBANA - Champaign County Habitat for Humanity dedicated its 65th home Wednesday night, and its first-ever designed with full handicap accessibility.
The home was given to Tamika Dorris, a single mother of five who works two jobs to support her family. She will occupy the Beech St. home with four of her children, as well as her disabled mother.
"I am feeling so blessed," said Dorris during a dedication ceremony at the home.
There, friends and family described Dorris as a "giver" with "a heart of gold."
Dorris says her mortgage will now be cheaper and she can afford to quit one of her two jobs and spend more time with family.
