Mansfield – An investigation is underway for the cause of a fire in a vacant home.
On Wednesday morning, the fire department was called out to 208 E. Griggs Street, in Mansfield. Damage to the home was contained to the 2nd floor and attic area. The fire reportedly caused 10-thousand dollars in damage.
The resident who lived in the home died nine months ago. Firefighters say all of the utilities were shut off, making the cause of fire questionable. The State's Fire Marshal is investigating.
