Illinois State Fair wraps up

SPRINGFIELD -- The 2013 Illinois State Fair wrapped up Sunday.

A large crowd packed the fairgrounds Sunday for Family Day. General admission was reduced to three dollars.

Between the rides and fried food, the fair proved to be a fun outing for all ages.

Many parents brought their kids for some final summer fun before school starts.

"I brought my kids up here before they head back to school," said David Davis of Pekin, Ill. "We enjoy ourselves and eat a lot of food."

Vendors like Coleman's Shake-Up Stand are happy with this year's turnout.

"It's been better than last year and about on par with two years ago," said owner Bernie Coleman.
