School put on lockdown while deputies look for suspect

Macon – Meridian Schools were put on a soft lockdown briefly Tuesday afternoon.

 

The Macon County Sheriff's Department told WAND they were looking in the area for a domestic violence suspect, wanted on a warrant. The school was put on lock down as a precaution.

 

Macon County Sheriff, Tom Schneider said the school was not in danger. 

 

Deputies found the suspect at Robin and Cardinal Drive. The suspect tried to resist and they pepper sprayed him. He was given medical attention and taken in for booking.
