No device found after ISU after bomb threat

Posted:

Normal -- Illinois State University President Timothy J. Flanagan says nothing suspicious has been found a day after a handwritten bomb threat was discovered in a bathroom.

But Flanagan said Wednesday in a message to students and employees that tightened security will remain in place through Friday at Schroeder (SHRAY'-dur) Hall.

Officials said the threatening message was found in the building on Tuesday.

Fall classes at the campus in Normal are scheduled to start Monday. The university has no plans to cancel or postpone any classes.

ISU Chief of Staff Jay Groves says the school contacted the FBI as a precaution.
