Human case of West Nile found in Illinois


McHenry County – This year's first human case of West Nile Virus has been reported in Illinois.


A 50 year old woman in McHenry County became sick earlier this month. Most people who are infected have no symptoms. However, some could become ill up to two weeks after being bitten by an infested mosquito.


Last year in Illinois there were more than 200 human cases and 12 deaths.
