Decatur – Unemployment numbers are out for the state of Illinois and the numbers are not good for Decatur.
The unemployment rate increased to 13.2 percent from last July, when unemployment was 11.3 percent. The increase number shows layoffs associated with manufacturing jobs.
Non-farming jobs have also declined by 2,000 compared to one year ago. However, educational and health services increased. Manufacturing jobs reported a decrease of 1,600 jobs. Other major industries remained stable or with little change in the last year.
