Decatur – A Millikin University Student was found dead in her dorm room Sunday morning.
Amanda Puckett, 19, was discovered to be unresponsive by a roommate. Puckett was transported to Decatur Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.
The Macon County Coroner says this is not a criminal investigation. After an autopsy, a cause of death is still undetermined. A final autopsy is pending. The coroner said in a press release that there are no overt signs of violence.
Millikin's President, Patrick E. Wade released a statement yesterday. He said in the statement that Puckett, of the Orland Hills area was found unresponsive in her residence hall around 8:15 Sunday morning.
