Oakwood Officials "Blessed" by New Travel Center

Posted:

OAKWOOD - It's been one week since the new Pilot Flying J travel center opened in Oakwood on August 19, and locals say they're blessed by its success.

Village President Bob Jennings says the truck stop "helps everybody," by generating tax revenue and adding jobs.

Store Director Ken Abernathy estimates $3.4 million in local and state tax revenue will be generated each year. He said 80 employees were hired locally.

So far, Abernathy says the store has been packed with customers.
