Plane crashes near Paris, FAA investigating


Paris – A plane crash near Paris has the FAA investigating.

Authorities say one person is dead after a small, two-engine plane crashed about one mile east of Edgar County Airport.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Tony Molinaro says the Cessna 421 crashed around 11:30 Tuesday morning. Edgar County officials say the aircraft was engulfed in flames.

Molinaro says the pilot was the only person on board and was killed. No other injuries were reported.

 The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
