Champaign - Police say that in September of 2012 a female was kidnapped at the University of Illinois, by a man later identified as Alfredo Camposal Varez, 25, of Urbana. Varez allegedly walked the female to a waiting car occupied by four males.
Police identified the males as 25 year old Alejandro Campos-Alvares, 19 year old Christian Jaimes Rodriguez, 37 year old Adan Campos Martinez, and 23 year old Pedro Valerio Mendez.
The victim told police the last thing she remembered was being with friends at a night club, and then she woke up on the floor of a bedroom where she was being sexually assaulted. The victim was able to get up and get dressed and walk out of the bedroom where she encountered four other males. The victim indicated that she was able to convince two of the males to take her to a friend's apartment where they dropped her off. The victim then reported the incident to police and was treated at a local hospital.
Through investigations police were able to identify Alejandro and Alfredo Campos Alvarez, and Christian James Rodriguez, on the morning of Friday August 23, 2013. The men were arrested for aggravated criminal sexual assault.
Police believe Adan Campos Martinez, and Pedro Valerio Mendez fled to Mexico following the assault. Warrants have been issued for their arrest, with a bond set at $5,000,000 each.
