Local DCFS Investigation

DECATUR-Police and DCFS are looking into accusations of abuse and neglect at a Decatur at-home daycare.

Over the past few days many of you have contacted us about possible neglect or abuse at a Decatur daycare.

DCFS and Decatur police say neighbors have complained about abuse and neglect at angel babies daycare on Meadowlark Drive in Decatur.

Both groups have confirmed they are investigating those complaints.

As a matter of procedure, DCFS has put a protective plan in place which means the operations of the daycare have been suspended pending the results of the investigation.

However, no action has been taken against the license of the daycare provider and no arrests have been made.

Parents have been informed of the investigation and protective plan.

The at-home daycare is licensed for six children or fewer.

There have been no prior substantiated complaints.

The suspension of operations is a matter of procedure not an indication of guilt.
