Danville - City leaders in Danville have decided to shut down one local dam, but not the other.
Safety concerns over two drowning are prompting action. However, local fishermen argue doing so would lower river levels and kill off fish.
Due to limited funds, leaders propose blocking the Elseworth Park Dam, but not the Vermillion River Dam. A final vote is expected by the full council next Tuesday.
