The first official day of Fall is Sunday, September 22 at 2:44 PM CDT., but the cooler weather makes it feel like Summer has already ended. Curtis Orchard in Savoy is hosting their annual Savoy Orchard Days Festival. People of all ages attended this weekend, and there is something for everyone to enjoy. Live bands, food, vendors, picking apples and pumpkins, and more were all incorporated into the festival. Curtis Orchard offers twenty acres of pumpkins and new apple varieties, such as the crimson crisp apple. Hundreds of new apple trees had been planted. Despite the recent drought conditions, Curtis Orchard Store Manager, Rachel Coventry, says the apple and pumpkin crops did great this year and were the best yields she has seen. Savoy Orchard Days Festival is every weekend in September and October.
