Champaign - A new home for women in crisis will begin to build their new facility in Champaign.
The project has raised
half of the money needed to begin the project. Organizers will break ground
Sunday on Merci's Refuge, on Wilbur Avenue in Champaign.
Merci's Refuge will
offer a residential program for pregnant women keeping their children. Also a
place for women in crisis, such as abusive relationships.
The building will have
counseling, classes, mentoring and other resources to help women get their life
back on track. For more information go to http://www.mercisrefuge.org/
