Man accused of robbing Circle K, beating 61-year-old employee

Decatur - An alleged armed robber could spend 45-years behind bars for injuring a 61-year-old.

Darryl Brooks, 22, has been charged with armed robbery. Police say Brooks robbed a Circle K on Woodford Street and Mound Road, around 2 a.m., last weekend. Brooks is accused of stealing a couple packs of cigarettes and beating a 61-year-old store employee.

Employees recognized Brooks as a regular customer. However, he has a lengthy record, including other thefts.
