"Pops from Cops" kicks off

Posted:

Decatur - Police are working on building relationships with local kids.

This morning police launched a new program, called "Pops from Cops." The idea is to relate to kids, so if an officer sees you do a good deed or something helpful in the community you're awarded a voucher for a free soft drink.

Officer Shawn Guenther told WAND "it gives them the opportunity to see the human side of us and we're rewarding them for doing something constructive or positive."

The pop voucher is the same size as a dollar bill, and can be redeemed at any Circle K store in Decatur and Forsyth.
