Crime Stoppers: Woman assaulted at park in Springfield


SPRINGFIELD -  Police are asking for your help to find a man who assaulted a woman in Timberbrooke Park, 2065 W. Washington, in Springfield.

Police say the woman was jogging near the park when an unknown man grabbed her from behind, pulled her down the embankment to the park, got on top of her, pinned her down and struck her in the face.

The victim told police she screamed violently, kicked, and grabbed the suspect's throat.

The suspect then ran west on Washington and left in a small red car driven by another man.

Several witnesses heard the screams and one witness saw the man run to the red car. The victim described the black male as taller (near 6 ft.), thin build, clean looking, in light colored clothing.
