Police search for bank robbery suspect


URBANA - Police are asking for your help to track down a bank robbery suspect.

They were On October 3, 2013 at approximately 3:05 PM the Urbana Police Department was dispatched to investigate the report of a robbery of the Heartland Bank & Trust branch located at 1812 Philo Road.

Police say a young woman who appeared to be a teenager presented a note with commands to bank officers. An undisclosed amount of money was handed to the suspect, who took off running towards Colorado Avenue while holding an envelope.

The incident happened just after 3:00 PM at the Heartland Bank & Trust branch located at 1812 Philo Road in Urbana.

The suspect is described as approximately 16 years of age, 5'5" with a thin build, light skin complexion and crooked teeth. The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with dark blue stripes and blue jeans.


 The Urbana Police Department asks anyone with further information to call the Urbana Police Department at 217-384-2320.  Callers may remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 217-373-TIPS or text "CCTip" plus the information to CRIMES (274637).
