Cancer Answers at Carle Hospital

Posted:

URBANA- For the first time, the Forum at Carle Hospital hosted a community symposium, where experts from Carle Cancer Center and Mills Breast Cancer Institute educated the public about prevention, diagnosis, latest treatment options, and nutrition when dealing with breast cancer. Carle Hospital Doctor Pat Johnson hopes to continue educating the public not just on breast cancer, but all types of cancer. Doctor Johnson says this weekend's event should be the first of many to come.

More than three-million children have been affected by a parent with cancer. The event provided information regarding an opportunity for children with parents who are battling cancer. That opportunity is called Camp Kesem. Camp Kesem's mission is to bring smiles and laughter to children with cancer-stricken parents. If interested, visit Camp Kesem's webiste at http://campkesem.org. They are also on Facebook at www.facebook.com/CampKesem.
