Springfield - A three car crash in Springfield tied up traffic on the southwest side for a couple of hours this morning.

State police say, an elderly man from Springfield was driving his mini-van the wrong way on Interstate 72, at Macarthur Boulevard. The driver hit a station wagon head-on, and another car could not avoid the crash.

State troopers say, the drivers of both the mini-van and station wagon were taken to St. Johns Hospital, in Springfield, with serious injuries. No word yet on how they're doing.
