Use of heroin steadily rising over the past three years
Champaign - Heroin use is a serious
problem in central Illinois.
The Champaign County
Coroner says, 46 people died from drug overdoses in the past three years, 29 of
those involved heroin. Our partner's at the Champaign New-Gazette report, some
officials believe people are addicted to pain pills, that then increases to the
use of heroin.
An estimated third of
the people sentenced to drug court in Champaign County
in the last two years, have been heroin addicts.
