Charleston - Police say they arrested a man who preyed on local churches.
Paul Tart, 31, is charged with felony theft. Police say he told Charleston churches his child was in the hospital, and claimed to be a disabled veteran home from the war. The churches gave him money, a vehicle and gas for the car. Police say his story was made up.
Anyone who has information about Tart attempting to or succeeding in defrauding them through these or similar claims are asked to contact Charleston Police Department investigations at 217-345-8422.
