Protesters Rally Outside Springfield Federal Building

Springfield - Ralliers outside the Paul Findley Federal Building were calling on Congressmen Rodney Davis and Aaron Schock to speak up and do their part in ending the government shutdown.

For some, living with the effects of the current government shutdown, they're hoping that there is a resolution soon before things get worse.

People gathered at the steps of the federal building in downtown Springfield.

Hundreds of thousands Americans are feeling the effects of the government shutdown.

People like US Marines veteran Mike Woodcox, who is worried what will happen if an agreement isn't reached.

"My military pension, my state pension, and my social security, that's how I pay my bills.  That's my livelihood, you know?  They're taking it away from me, and every morning you wake up wondering are you going to be able to pay your bills?  Are you going to have enough money to put food on the table for your family," Woodcox told WAND News.

Questions that many, just like Tuesday's protestors, are hoping will be answered soon.
